How can I speed up my PC?

There are a number of things you can do to speed up your PC without paying for a service call or taking the PC in to a PC repair shop.

1) Things like Temp files

2) Temporary file in Internet Explore

3) Defrag the hard drive

4) Run a virus scan

These four things can slow down your PC. We will go through each one of the above and I will explain how you can do it your self and save some money.

1) Lets talk about the temp directory. The temp directory is a folder that the system uses to down load files like update from Microsoft. It is also used by the PC or the system as a temporary directory. Which the stsemt uses this folder to download and program  files. All of these things take up room on the hard drive. All you have to do is remove them and you can gain more hard disk space and improve the PC speed by deleting these files.

In order to remove them, all you have to do is go to the directory and delete all of the files in the temp folder. Go to C:\Windows\Temp select all of the file in this folder and delete them. You will want to check to make sure you are not in any other folder before you hit the delete button. All of these file in this folder can be deleted with out harming your PC.

2) Removing temporary internet files will speed up your internet speed and help speed up your PC. All you have to do is go to your internet browser then go to Tools, then internet options. If you look at the options you will see a delete button clink on the delete button and another window will pop up. All you have to do at that point is select what you want to delete or clean up.

3) To run defrag on the hard drive. Go to my computer double and open my computer icon, then look for the C Drive icon, right click on C drive icon and go to properties. Another window will pop up; select the tools menu at the top. When the pop up window opens, select the defrag button and follow the directions.

4)Run Virus scan on your PC do a complete scam on the system this will go through the system and look for viruses and clean them this will also help speed up your PC.
